this is my first post and the information available on the all forums is very informative. i recently purchased a panasonic rp91 from ecost.com and had it shipped to england. whilst i rate the player i want to take advantage of the progressive scan feature on the player. i have the u.k version of the sharp xv-zw99 (xv-zw60) i have it connected to the dvd player using component leads and when i switch on the progressive mode on the player the picture on the screen splits down the centre of the screen with a grey band seperating the picture. i have elsewhere on this forum that a progressive signal is only achieved via the rgb socket on the projector and the only way to do this is to use a component to vga converter that companies such as audio authority manufacture. can any readers who have had similar problems offer any advice and is this the best way for me to achieve progressive scan?

abs,

Zw99's component input can only accept interlaced signal. The progressive signal will confuse the projector, due to microvission problem.
I am using CVC 200 converter from Extron. It works very well, but very pricy. You may check another vender: Key Digital Systems. Their list price of KD-CTC1 is only $299.
