I'm trying to hook my Mitsubishi Projector up via it's RS-232C port, unfortunately it's the non-standard 8pin DIN port (Mini I think, since it's small/round)...

I don't have the converter cable to convert RS-232C D-SUB (normal looking serial plug) to the round type on the projector.

I'm trying to get this into my Crestron system....

Any suggestions?? I've searched and searched online for the cable from Mitsubishi but nobody seems to list it..

Thanks!!

You don't see it listed because the come with the projector when new. I might have one lying around my shop. I will check and report back.

Thank you!! I found the part number in the owners manual but that is of little use to me now.... I'm surprised it's not a common part I can find or make with radio shack parts... let me know what you find, thanks again

HDTVNYC,
My friend just bought the XD300U and it came with this cable also. He is trying to use it to get his mouse to work from his laptop but it doesn't work. The laptop has a PS2 out for a mouse, then he used the PS2 to 9 pin and it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Hi Wiredman...

Not sure, found a custom cable maker that I sent the pin outs too and I'm waiting on the cable....

I haven't played with the mouse yet... but I also have a USB port... you're friend can try plugging into the USB ports and it should work that way.

The setup that you have with PS2/RS232->Rs232/8p Din->projector should work right. The manual says to shut everything off (pc and projector) and restart it all so it should "sense" it...

Then you would use the remote controller for the projector as a "mouse"...
