1) An Infocus 1080p 1-chip DLP with 1000 ANSI lumen @D65.

2) A Mitsubishi 1080p 1-chip DLP using the same (great) optics/light path as the HC5000.

3) Joe Kane/Samsung 1080p DLP.

4) TI showing "dynamic Black" (=DI + gamma correction) again, which will be in actual products starting with CEDIA 07.

How many got I right?

who is this guy joe kane??? - i hear him mentioned all the time, usually associated with samsung projectors, and rarely does anyone mention samsung in the same breath as say infocus,sony,optoma/etc/etc..

it appears that samsung is a 2nd (maybe 3rd) tier manufactuer of pj's, so why is joe kane thought of so highly??

if he is the michael jordan of projectors, i would think that samsung's would be killa machines...

just wondering...

Yah Joe Kane is highly respected here and in the video field for his top notch calibrations etc. However...as you pointed out that still leaves samsung with holding up the nuts and bolts end of the projector. So far that hasn't gone quite as smoothly as most had hoped.

I think the market for that price range projector is drying up. Technology is changing too fast and noone wants to take a $25K hit after owning a projector for a year because someone just came out with one that outperforms it for under $5K.

So... a more flexible 1080p single chip from Optoma
and a LED projector from Sony
Are these the only confirmed new models being shown?

This has turned idiotic. Joe Kane is not a projector designer and although he can calibrate, he is not a calibrator. Please. research his bio. Among other things, he was chairman of the NTSC standards commitee. He was a founder of the ISF. He authored the varios Video Essential tapes and discs. Some might know the current version, Digital Video Essentials. He is a long time editor and contributor to Wide Screen Review. It goes on and on. He is a consultant to Samsung to assist them in making a color accurate FP. Samsung really could cae little about the FP market. It is miniscule compared to panels and RPTVs.

Looking at that old link, it reminds me how much better I liked the old posting format with the links for profile, pm, website, gallery and such layed out across the top of each post.

Oh yeah, Ms. Q is quite easy on the eyes as well.

Since they were mentioned in this thread, they automatically become confirmed rumours

Actually it'd be nice if people said whether they're just guessing or have some info.

I was told to leak this just before the show. I guess so people there would go and take a look.

There's another version of the Optoma HD81 1080p single chip two piece system. It will be called the HD81LB.

Increase in lumens with the new Brilliant Color 2. lumen rating goes up to 2000 now. Plus the case color will be black instead of white.

They'll also show the low priced DC3 HD73 plus some prestentaion machines. They use the PS3 in some of the demos showing gaming and the advantage a large screen brings to gaming.

Hotter than who? Any booth babe for example is say way hotter than David Bott. Who will have the hottest booth babe(s)? The question must also be qualified. Dressed or undressed? Backlit or never mind.
