1080p front projectors seem to be very "in" at the moment. Here in Europe however, there are very few 1080p sources. Most switching and upscaling A/V amps (such as the Denon line) only support up to 720p or 1080i. I understand from what I read that the 1080p projectors obviously have a higher fill rate, which eliminates any remaining SDE (especially in light-colored areas on the screen). How would a 720p source look on a 1080p projector compared to a 720p projector? The 720p projector can perform pixel to pixel mapping, while the 1080p will need to upscale.

Has anyone been able to see the difference? Does 1080i look better than 720p on a 1080p projector? I know some of you have switched from the Benq PE8720 (720p) to a W10000 (1080p), have you seen the difference with SD or 720p sources? Did it look better on the PE8720 or the W10000 ??

I can only speak for the Pearl - 720p still looks very good on the Pearl. In fact I'd say the sharpest 720p stuff I've seen looked sharper than the softer 1080i stuff on the Pearl.
