Wet1, with wide open lens you will have to live with a shutter speed of 1/30 or slower. That seems near impossible to do a hand handheld unless you have super steady hands/arms with slow heart beat. Good job nevertheless.

It is all about quality...that is the picture

JVC & NEC 8" CRT with 106" wide Stewart screen. All NHT speakers driven by Pioneer Elite AVR and bluray

Custom dedicated 8 seat theater

CaspianM,

You're preaching to the choir my friend! As you can see, I have a pretty steady hand (lots of years of pistol shooting), but there's no substitute for a tripod! In all fairness, I did have the camera resting on my supported knee, but the pics prove I was still moving a little.

I miss my D200 dearly, but after having thousands of dollars of equipment disappear from our hotel room, I'm now questioning if it's worth it to reinvest in another good dSLR. They are just so big, bulky, and expensive... Almost too much of a hassle to bring anywhere I often want to use one. Since all my expensive Nikon stuff was stolen, I'm considering getting a much cheaper bare-bones Cannon dSLR as a companion to my little Sony point and shoot... I'd freak if I bought another expenisive camera and something happened to it.

Wow, that sucks having your camera stuff stolen!

I am considering Nikon's new D300!

I can't say it made me very happy!

The D300 is an awesome camera, I don't think you could possibly be anything but 100% satisfied with it!

Like I said, this time around I think I'm going to go much cheaper so I can feel a little more comfortable actually bringing it places w/o constantly worrying about it. Even the cheap dSLRs take much better pics than the old Sony I'm using now!

Thanks Cliff. It's all in good fun. As we all know, SS do the actual image very little justice... and I KNOW your G90 stack looks a hell of a lot better in person!

Sorry, I'm feeling too lazy to paste them all here as well.

Thats from a preview on Shrek the Third, new Jack Black movie called Kung Fu Panda. All I could think about while watching it was they made an animated version of Chris Farleys Beverley Hills Ninja.

Sure is, the 1000 was too.

I jumped from the 1000 to the 2000, for the price, I don't think there is a projector that could fill my 159" screen as well as the 2000.

Is it time to bring this thread back alive in the $3k+ forum? Almost 12 months since any posts...

The guys on the $3k- forum seem to be having all the fun (read: spare time) taking/posting picts....

My just completed DIY screen enabled these picts, taken handheld with a Canon compact digital. Next time, tripod.
These picts don't do the screen actual justice, they were taken just prior to border install. I have to dial in my Sony VW60 / Panamorph UH 380 now that I have a real screen.
Projector: Sony VPL-VW60 + Panamorph UH380
Screen Size: 130" wide for 2.35 movies 103" wide for 16:9
Screen Type: DIY curved Wilson Art Designer White Laminate
PS3 Blu-Ray Casino Royale.

Infocus 7210

By shaolin95
Well this pic turned out close enough I guess but its annoying that the image shack image has more punch than the forum posted image sometimes...
In any case, I hope you guys dont mind me posting here since my 7210 used to belong in this section.
I got plenty more if you dont mind otherwise, I will stick to the under 3k area.
As always the info is as follows:
Projector: Infocus 7210 (720p)
Screen Size: 120" wide for 2.35 movies 108" wide for 1.78
Screen Type: Wilson Art Designer White Laminate
HTPC driven with ffdshow decoding (90% time) and EVR rendering.
Please not that my 50mm lens cant capture the whole image thus the cropping on the sides you see.

Panamorph UH380
Crystalio VPS-3300 processor

Currently programming my Pronto TSU9600....I think I need some Tylenol.
