I was over in the CRT area and love the screenshot thread, "Screenshot Wars", that was started. I didn't want to "pollute" their thread so I came over here to this area only to search and not find one. So here we go....post up your best screen shots with a brief description of your equipment. It's always great to see shots from different mixes of equipment (i.e. Projectors, Screens, Video processors)

I Guess I'll go first!!

Shots of 2001 A.S.O. (HD-DVD)
HD-A1 --> Crystalio 2 VPS-3300 --> JVC DLA-RS1 (BT-709 calibrated) --> 106" 16:9 Vutec Silverstar

Currently programming my Pronto TSU9600....I think I need some Tylenol.

Now Featuring the Klipsch THX Ultra2 System (Quad KW-120's)

Great idea for a new thread. Man those pics looks great, plenty of punch.
Im also a Klipsch fan so I can imagine you've got the sound to match those pics.

Alan,

Thanks!! The Klipsch speakers are only 2 weeks old and barely broken in. They've taken my home theater experience to a whole new level...especially since they're mated with the Denon 5805 MKII.

BTW...I never thought 2001 ASO could look so good. Kubrick's cinematography is top notch in this feature which makes for great BD or HD-DVD demo material. Kudos to Warner for such a great re-master/transfer.

What was your impression going from your screen to the SMX may I ask?

On a side note.....those are beauties! One question though, isn't that car supposed to be a red? Maybe it's my crappy computer monitor but it looks orange.

I'm more interested in how the RS1 could be calibrated to 709 w/o a CMS?!?!

Nice looking shots guys. I just received my copy of 2001 the other day, I can't wait to sit down this weekend and watch it!

You have to host them elsewhere (eg: Photobucket).

scottyb, very easy to do. I just joined up with photobucket and once you upload pics there you just have to cut and paste the "img" url into your post. Piece of cake. 8)

Ill try and take some screenshots today to add as well. Those 2001, POTC and spidey shots look amazing. 8) So do the LOTR and SW shots in SD.

It is Cliff's camera which is a Kodak Easyshare, but I'm not sure of the exact model number. It is shaped more like a traditional SLR camera, not one of the rectangular ones.

Using the Crystalio C2. I realize I'm not changing the true primaries in the projector (obviously since they're fixed), however I'm changing the RGB mix of each primary in the C2 to achieve 709.

Currently programming my Pronto TSU9600....I think I need some Tylenol.

I'm no expert at it and still learning myself. A couple of key items..

1 - Obviously, no flash.

2 - Use a tri-pod if you got it.

3 - Set your camera to the lowest possible ISO setting. Some go as low as 50 others only 80.

4 - I also played around with various white-balance setting. My E-10 SLR has a feature to dynamically set the W/B based on what its seeing.

I'm PM'd Cliffy over in the CRT Forum for some pointers. I'll post what I find out. Thanks everyone for contributing. That AE2K looks really good!!

Art,

Can you post up some of your screen shots from 2001 ASO (or whatever else you want) off that killer Sim2 5K of yours!!?? That projector is truly amazing. Are you using an outboard video processor to drive it?

Load of HT5000 14ft screen with ISCOIII shots in this thread. No external VP is required and is actually a retrograde step. Onboard VP software is outstanding. All shots taken with cheap sony DSCT100. Shots include 235, 16:9, HDDVD,HDTV and 360.

Coldmachine is correct,it would be hard to imagine better VP than what's onboard the 5000 already.

I need to see who hosts larger images than photobucket they are resduced and sized automatically to smaller than those posted here.
