Some people use a unsubscribed Tivo to do what you want. You won't be able to record(other than a 30 minute buffer) and I've read you might get a banner when switching channels reminding you to subscribe, but otherwise I guess it works. Then Tivo Premier isn't known to have the best tuner but if you've got a decent signal it should work just fine.

I tried to contact Centronics today to buy a hardware product, and it looks like they are out of business. They used to have their warehouse about 20 miles from me, just west of Annapolis, Maryland, and I was hoping to make a run over there this afternoon. Does anyone here know any particulars of their closing, if they did?

Looks like the (same) owners now run an indoor sports arena out of what used to be their warehouse. Also looks like they haven't filed annual reports with the MD secretary of state since 2013 for the old business entity.

Too bad. The used to have those nice, big, eight block non-penetrating mounts for $50 each and I could save myself the shipping by picking up half a dozen at a time.
