I live in Palo Alto and have been struggling with getting consistent OTA with an outdoor antenna on my single story house. I used to get many, many channels with an RCA ANT-751 until the last two months. Since then, nearly all my channels have dropped out, except for KNTV 11, KGO 7, and KTEH 54.
I have a Winegard AP-8700 amp installed in this setup because the signal gets split two ways before getting to my LG HDTV.
Here is the tvfool info:
I've tried everything now -- turning the amp off, tilting the antenna, rotating the antenna, but I cannot get some essential channels (KPIX, KQED, KICU) consistently.
There are many trees around as well as an airport about a mile away (which does also affect reception from time to time -- but that doesn't seem to be the problem now.)
Can anyone recommend a foolproof antenna for me, or how to fix my setup?
