I've been meaning to post these photos for some time now.

Thanks to LithOTA for the idea on how to mount my KT-200 next to the antenna. The electrical box and rubber grommets are common items from my local Home Depot.

Note that I had extra exterior rated cable laying around so I decided to power the amp with a separate pair of conductors rather than inject power up the coax.

That looks cool. I just put the KT-200 into a small plastic butter tub and seal it with water sealant for baths and kitchen. Definitely going cheap on this. heh. Was able to pick up so weak channels on tropo days that I could not get before.

I'm in the camp who says do not TRY TO 100% seal ... put a low point drain with brass/plastic/stainless wool so insects can't get in.

Paint the enclosure with plastic spray paint, to protect it from UV. If you don't, the sun will quickly make that enclosure brittle and crack.

Of course, for what you spend on a can of plastic spray paint, would easily pay for a better enclosure.

The KT200 doesn't promise higher gain than the CM7777, it promises a lower noise figure, which should be reflected in the MER value rather than the power. As I recall, the MER on your local stations exceeds the capability of the SLM-1456 to measure, so it may be difficult to do a test of that at your location.

Yesterday was a fairly nice day, so I took the HD7696P outside and did another CM-7777 vs. KT-200 shootout. The HD7696P was mounted atop an 10 ft stepladder, with aiming optimized for K31GL (an 8 kW about 40 miles SSW of here in zip 75035). Unlike the prior numbers I posted, these are raw -- directly off the Sencore SLM-1456 -- showing not just power but also MER and BER.

As Trip indicated, everything is so strong here that the MER values are mostly >36.0. There are a handful from the LPTVs that might be worth comparing. It's interesting that RF-51 (5 kW at 40 miles) could be locked by the Sencore unless there was a preamp.

As was the case a few months ago when I last posted, the KT-200 beats the CM-7777 in terms of raw gain on VHF. The opposite is the case on UHF. The gains over the baseline are at the very bottom of this post.

Has anyone compared the KT200 to the AbilityHDTV ULNA?
