Looks like we all got off on the wrong foot. I knew my configuration, and process up to this point, and didn't think that my simple question of whether the performance between 2 products was worth the price difference. I didn't realize that my question would require reopening the old thread, that's why I started a new one, sorry.
But to answer your advice of removing the splitter, I only get dropouts on the downstairs TV... But primarily only when a car drives by, which is often, several times an hour at peak traffic times (5-10 pm). From what others tell me, this is probably a combination of multipath and that the cable in the wall is probably rg59 rather than rg6.
That being said, was your previous comment of "moot point" that the difference between the amps was negligible, or that, in you're opinion, the use of the amp could be useless prior to testing receivers without the splitter?
