Hi everyone, aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii.

I'm in Kailua Kona on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Our cable provider here is Oceanic Time Warner. I cancelled my cable subscription over 1 year ago.

I don't know which OTA antenna to get - unidirectional, or omnidirectional - based on my location. Could someone here please advise me?

My location is Kailua Kona, HI 96740 at about 500 ft altitude on the Big Island of Hawaii.

From what I can tell, the most direct unobstructed cluster of broadcasts comes from Maui, north-northwest about 76 miles away. There are other broadcasts on the Big Island, some 54 miles east in Hilo, but between me and Hilo is a very large mountain (my house is actually on the slope of the mountain, about 500 ft up from sea level).

So, what antenna type, brand, model would you recommend? Thanks very much.

Here is the search results, but you might want to change the range to 100 miles to see Maui:

Thanks for the suggestion for TV Fool.

Here is a link to the results:

I'd like to get all the channels if possible, not sure which kind of antenna to get.

But if I had to be selective, I'd prefer the HD stations in Maui which are 75-77 miles away because those seem to be the major network ones in HD.
