There is no length specified in the spec but for Cat 1 HDMI cables try to limit to 15ft or less and for Cat 2 HDMI cables try to limit to 50ft or less.

A certified high speed cable is all you need. The problem is finding one that is really certified. Trying to do it on eBay is hopeless unless you are buying a known brand (and it isn't counterfeit). Buy from a reliable source, like monoprice, Blue Jeans Cable, or AV Science, and you will be safe. They all have 15' certified high speed HDMI cables that will handle any signal currently supported by the HDMI specification.
