So we have received a large screen CRT-Rear Projection TV from my Aunt for my mom, the TV is a Philips 55pw9363/17f
Here are the stats
http://www.p4c.philips.com/na4/5/55pw9363/55pw9363_pss_aen.pdf

The TV is an HD unit capable of 1080i, but only via component cables or DVI.

So the Bright House box we have is the Cisco Explorer 8642 HDC and we purchased a HDMI to DVI cable so we could hook the box to the TV. The problem is we get a picture but we dont get sound.

I assumed that the Box (once hooked up via HDMI would want to push all audio though the HDMI cable) but shouldnt there be a setting on the box that says Analog, or digital audio out as an option?

So that I can have video going though via HDMI to DVI, and the sound coming out with red/white audio cables.

Can someone help with this?

DVI only carries video, not audio. This is normal.

To get audio, connect standard audio cables (red+white) from the audio out of the cable box to the DVI audio input on the back of your tv. Looking at the specs you provided, these will be the jacks on the lower right if you are facing the back of your TV that is paired along the DVI input that says "HD input, AV5".
