Comcast just migrated to all digital in my area. Before I could get local channels on my HDTV with the digital QAM tuner, w/o any cable box. Now all the local channels are gone. I know Comcast is a looser, but I have no choice in my area. Can they encrypt local QAM channels if you subscribe to basic cable? They sent everyone a stupid digital converter box, but all it does is convert Comcast's digital signal to an analog signal so I can plug it into my digital tuner. Dumb! BTW, I have done a channel search several times.

Thanks for any help.

Pop your zipcode in here: and pick your cable service from the next page. That should tell you if they're still there.
