I've been using a simple Silver Sensor that I bought for $15 over 10 years ago for all of my OTA viewing since then. It works great for my location. Never had an issue with reception. Now, I'm finally adding another TV and unfortuantely I am unable to simply split the feed from the silver sensor into two to get to this part of the house. I'm looking for another plain jane, simple silver sensor. I just want the basic silver and black one that they used to sell with the plastic arm and base. No need for amplification or a big bulky base. The only thing I found was one from Great Britain via eBay:

Has antenna technology moved beyond this design? Why can't I find this cheap antenna anywhere? PLEASE HELP!

Look into a Terk HDTVi.

I'm not sure if that original Silver Sensor is still being sold anymore. It was sold under the Phillips and Zenith brands. But that previously mentioned Terk HDTVi uses the same basic design, and also has better build quality. And it adds rabbit ears for VHF. One of the better indoor antennas.

Buy.com has it, and possibly Sears, too.

However, it's not exactly inexpensive.
