Hi I have put an older 50" 720p plasma above a fireplace at home. I ran two cheapie 50ft HDMI cables through back of fireplace to attic and back down through a wall in this TV room to hide cables. The cables have since stopped working, and the fireplace does not get used. I have used a shorter HDMI cable from tv to sattelite and blueray to confirm the cables are bad. Now i have to replace the cables. I have 11ft of cable slack from 50ft cables that come out of the wall, which is behind a couch.
Now what should i do, just buy two more 50ft cables? Or would a single cable work, and just get an HDMI splitter? I want to preserve the possibility of getting a 1080p set in the future and want whatever i decide on to work with that. Also should i bother to get an HDMI wall plate? Cables are just poked through wall at the moment. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks!
