Recently purchased a 42" led from insignia, great deal for my budget
but noticed quite a lot of input lag, so i turned on game mode.
after i turn on game mode, i see the brightness settings/sharpness have changed, but not much else.
I turn off some other useless modes like high contrast that might interfere with lag, but when i do, it changes the game mode to custom. as far as i know, none of the other settings change, just the info bar that says game mode/ custom mode, but im still kinda worried.

so my question is, if i turn on game mode and change some setttings around, will it still enable game mode with my custom settings, or turn off game mode and apply my settings?

Game mode is used to reduce the processing required to trasnsform the input to the native resoluiton of your display. Such as the quality of upscaling and deinterlacing are the most common if required as is any motion compensation features. It does not tell you what is changed but you should notice a reduction of lag for moving objects right asay. There is nothing to worry about and other changes should be avoided.
