Not sure if this is where to post this, but I'm looking to toally dump cable and get some sort of antenna. Do peopl still put these in. Not Dish or Dircttv, either. Looking for options. Thanks

To start we need to get an idea of reception in your area. Go to tvfool.com and post your results ( your address will not be shown).

We can then guide you in the right direction.

I,m located near Reading as well. There are a lot of hills and valleys as well as trees that can severely affect your reception in this area. Go to TVFOOL.COM and enter your exact location and post a link to the results here (your address will not be visible). I'm able to pickup stations as far away as Scranton a few from Harrisburg and most of the Phillie stations.

Based on your tvfool results, you have very challenging reception issues, but at the same time , you live in an area where you can possibly receive stations from different markets as 30CP has indicated above.

But in a nutshell, you are going to need at the very least a huge Lo/Hi VHF-UHF antenna mounted outdoors, a rotor to pick up different markets, and probably an amp.
