I have a Panasonic Viera TC-L42E50 with wireless headphones hooked up via the Digital Audio Out and a digital to analog converter. The headphones work fine when I'm watching regular channels but, when I play a MKV file off a USB, I get nothing from the headphones. I know it's probably due to the file having 5.1 sound and my converter only supporting PCM. However
, at the file browser page, a preview of each video is played and the headphones work perfectly during the previews but not when I actually play them.
I've attached a photo to show what I mean. That's the file browser page in the photo and while a file is selected, the video starts to play inside that box and the headphones work fine then. But once I play a file then the headphones go silent. Is there a setting somewhere that I haven't found? It seems like the TV is capable of "forcing" the 5.1 to 2.1.
