Hope someone can help me, I'm now on my third HDTV tuner!

We stream most of our TV so we just have basic cable with no set top box but I have one of the early Panasonic plasmas stricken with a weak or defective tuner. It will not tune any digital channels.

I purchased two Samsung tuners that didn't work, the first didn't do QAM, the second seemed to just have a lousy tuner.

I now have a Channel Master 7001 which is tuning HD channels perfectly but won't tune any of the analog channels from the cable. I know they're there because the Samsungs tuned them. I've got my cable directly into a Sony LCD in my bedroom and it happily tunes both the analog and HD.

I thought the CM would do it all, anyone know if I could have a setting wrong? Else anyone know of a tuner that will tune both unencrypted analog and HD from cable?

Specs for CM-7001 only says it supports ATSC and QAM....NTSC is missing from "Modulation Modes" list:
http://support.channelmaster.com/attachments/token/roxk1z5igcovvui/?name=CM7001+User+Guide.pdf
Also note that ALL CECB's, including CM7000 predecessor were NOT required to decode NTSC...which resulted in the "Analog Pass-Thru" design modification fiasco....

Searching through HD OTA STB list for "NTSC", you'll find they're fairly rare (e.g. Tivo, PrimeDTV, DVICO):

Thanks for the info, it got me searching on a better track. Not many choices but there are some solutions out there.

FWIW, I don't understand why everyone likes this Channel Master box. It won't even let you delete unwanted channels... lame.
