I have an older motor home in which I have upgraded the TVs and would like to be able to connect the DVR and cable box to the coaxial cable that runs to the rear TV. It would be a major job to run a new HDMI cable to the back. I have a splitter on the coax coming to the cable box and get some channel on the rear TV but the DVR only has HDMI output. I do not care if I get all the channels in the back but would like to get the DVR signal. Is there a converter or something I can use?

What kind of DVR/Cable box do you have?

I've seen many that had a coax output and you were able to use both the HDMI for the local TV and the RF/COAX for the remote TV.

i have not tried any but I believe there are HDMI-over-coax adapter kits that will get the signal over your installed cable.

Right.  One part of the HDMI-over-coax kit takes your HDMI source signals and sends them over coax.  At the other end of your installed coax, the other part of the kit reconverts the signals to HDMI to feed your TV.
