Hi there,

new to the forum and also back to being cable free...I purchased an ANT-5100 digiwave outdoor antenna from Wintronics yesterday which I was told I could use indoors and get at least 6 HD channels.  I've got it sitting in the living room and only get CHCH and CTS, both very local stations.   I realise if I mount it on the roof somehow that will give me the best reception.  If anyone is familiar with the unit, why do I lose the channels when I plug in the white box attachement??  I assume this is some sort of amplifier, then why would it cut the local stations out?!

Any help would be much appreciated or if anyone knows of any good sites where I can do a step by step run down... I had hoped for more guidance from the local store, but all they do is sell them and tell you the item is 'final sale'...!

Cheers

Walking the fine line between jaw-dropping and a plain ol' yawn.
