While doing some research on DVI-HDCP, I found this website that had DVI cables that said they are "HDCP compliant"

Is there such a thing? Is this something to consider when hooking up a player with HDCP?

Here's the site:

Thanks

I guess it's not really false but then all DVI/HDMI cables could be called HDCP compliant. In the same way, all antennas are HDTV antennas. Marketing has been talking to engineering again.

While I may link to and mention products as examples, I don't recommend specific products.

Well, there were (are?) certain classes of DVI fiber cables (e.g., all fiber, with the breakoff connectors, early models) that couldn't handle a bidirectional DDC conversation, which effectively meant no HDCP support. Still, these represent(ed) a *very* small and niche segment of the overall DVI cable market, so marketing a DVI as HDCP compliant does smack of overkill to some extent.

Thank-you.

That's what I suspected. I just didn't want to buy the wrong stuff.
