The most critical step has been completeted... I have permission to put up a antenna. Now, does anyone have advice on an OTA antenna? I've seen some on keohi.com about antenna choices. I'm thinking I will have to go with a smaller sized one.
Anyone have brands that work well, or advice on ones to avoid?
For a good primer on DTV, and antennas go to http://www.dtvmax.com/dtv.htm . About 3/4 of the way down the page it explains different types of antennas. To check out reception and the size of antenna you will need, you can go to http://www.antennaweb.org
and it will even have the dtv channels in your area.

Well, I went to Goodguys and picked up a ProScan PSHD-105 for $440. Took it home hooked it up via the SVideo (yeah I'll fix that) to the TV. I connected a crapy antenna that's on my DSS dish and volia... HDTV! Cool!
No sugar bowl (not sure if it's signal level) but I've got WB, Fox (not sure what mode), NBC, CBS, PBS and a local independant. Some are coming from the north, some from the south and almost all come it without a good antenna. Hmmm Fox show a logo instead of local commercials... neat.
Now to hook up DSS and get any software upgrades. =)
Thanks everyone!
