Hi,
I have been lurking on this board for several months and I have to admit that I have learned a great deal about TV and satellites etc. This is a terrific resource. My new Mits 65732 is in route, the Dish installer is scheduled in as well. I am dropping my COX cable due to the poor HDTV selection. My locals are not available in High Def over the sat and I need some assistance choosing an OTA antenna. Here are the Antenna references. Any help would be appreciated. I can go attic or roof top. This is Kansas so trees and tall buildings are not a major concern. I was looking at the Winegard SS2000 because it can be attached directly to the satellite dish. Will it work?

Hey, always glad to see some fellow Kansans join AVS..... I still use Cox for HD so I am not sure what antenna to recommend to you, however check out this link...
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=131977

It will take you to the Wichita Ks, OTA HD Forum.. there is lots of good info, and I believe that some people have given reviews of OTA Antennas..

Let me know how you like satellite, I have been toying with the idea of dumping Cox and going to dish... I will be interested to see what you think...

The SS2000 is absolute JUNK. At that distance, you should attic mount a Channel Master 3016, and point it toward Wichita. It's available from solidsignal.com for $29.

Use the balun kit included with the antenna and run some RG-6 to the HDTV. You can get some good RG-6 cable from RadioShack, Lowe's, or Home Depot. You might need only a 25-foot run, maybe longer (up to 50 feet).
