Hi all. I need a USB sound card for my laptop so that I can connect my receiver with my computer. I want both S/PDIF (for DD & DTS) and 5.1 analog output with it. Creative Audigy 2 NX may be a choice, but is really hard to find. Do you have some other recommendations? Thanks!

There's one by Sondigo. There's also:

A Zalman model
.
Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro
And an external Toshiba box that's also a USB hub plus other functionality.

I've used the Turtle Beach before, and bought the Zalman and Toshiba too, but never got around to opening them!

If you have Vista on your laptop, think again.

I bought this one - GWC USB 5.1 channel audio adapter from mwave.com. It's generic and cheap but it's working okay for me.

I've been thinking about this statement and am now pretty sure I have no idea what this means. Elaboration?

Thank you for all your comments. But I'm not sure if these cards have 5.1 analog output for DD/DTS? I didn't find the audio output jack on them...

The Zalman one definitely has analogue outputs too. It was designed with their 5.1 headphones in mind.
