For some unknown reason, and one I do not want to end, companies sell the same product for far less money in the US.
It could be due to the lack of protectionist tarrifs we have, could be due to the larger quantity they can expect to sell, I do not know.
About 15 years ago, I was in Japan and thought I would replace my Casio watch. The watch cost $60 in the US, but cost $180 in Japan (after converting the Yen to US Dollars). Suffice it to say I did not buy one.
Also, Americans have odd magic price point numbers. We will buy a $199 item much faster than a $200 item.
