I've been off work for a few days recovering from an apendectomy and have been trying to figure out why the xonar won't pass through 24p signal.
so much stuffing around with timings and different resolutions and the only progressive scan refresh rates i could get working was 30p,50p and 60p, and almost by accident, i now HAVE SETTINGS FOR 1080/24P PASSTHROUGH VIA THE XONAR.
NO EXTRA HDMI DVI CONVERTER CABLE, NO MULTIPLE MONITOR CRAP, JUST SINGLE CABLE FROM VIDEO CARD TO XONAR, XONAR TO RECEIVER, AND RECEIVER TO PLASMA.

Well I assume it involves the "change signal or format" tab mate, like in that big screenshot

Will try myself after work...

LOL no need to be sarcastic

I just assumed there was some magic or snake-oil in use as no one else has figured it out yet

Not to mention ASUS tech support said to couldn't be done, nor ever could.

If you got it working, great stuff.

Actually the Asus tech said something to the affect that 24p does not work well. It was in such broken English that it sounded like it would never be supported. I wouldn't totally count it out just yet.

Has anyone checked the EDID information that the Asus cards sends? That will tell you if it supports 24p. Even if it doesn't support 24p it might actually pass it through with something like a DVI detective. I have the DVI detective but I don't have a TV that supports 24p. If you want to buy me a 1080p TV I would be happy to confirm whether it supports 24p or not.

You can never tell by the HDAV 1.3 thread as most of the complaining is done by people who don't actually own the card. They base their opinions off half truths and misunderstood posts by others.

Do I get to complain twice because I own two of the cards now?

now got 48hz running as well, still having some troubles getting the settings for 72,96 and 120.
I don't think i can get 120hz tho as its out of spec range for my tv.
Once I've formatted and installed xp with sp3 and tried the settings i'll post them.
Unfortunately I've never owned an ATI card for more than 1 day in my life so I'm not sure of the exact setup but i'm sure they'd have a custom resolution setting somewhere to edit timings etc.
