Hi,

I would like help about EDID
All seems working but i didn't get DTS-HD HRA comes from Bluray or Sample.

I try to explain my installation :
HTPC Nvidia card is connected to a HDMI Splitter 1 input to 2 output.
(I use it that way because my Harman seems to lost Video when i do refresh rate)

So i have one output of splitter to input AVR (to get sound) and second output to Sanyo Z3000.

If i stay like this, i have no sound on my Win7 because (it seems) it detect a monitor device plug and play as monitor.

To get sound i replace this device by harman kardon EDID that i made a long time ago when i use ATI 5770.

All seems working except this DTS-HD HRA.

So i need help to figure out if i have to make it differently
Thanks

My Onkyo 1007 tends to loose the vsync for 50, 60Hz and TV has no such problem. What did I do? My ATI 5450 has DVI and HDMI ports. So I connected DVI to TV directly and HDMI to AVR (and avr 2 tv after that for any case). This way I keep any sound format in HDMI and any refresh rate in DVI. (Not sure if "chroma bug" still exist in DVI connection - to lazy to check and I know I can't make things better anyway).

The HK EDID is perfect. Whatever the issue is it's player/codec related, not an EDID detection problem.

Thanks Tulli,

It's not a codec issue for sure, TMT didn't work too lol. (All is working except DTS-HD HRA) or maybe Harman didn't handle it (or Nvidia drivers ?)
So the attached file is correct ? if yes it's cool.
Because in my current setup i need to put that inf to enable/validate sound on PC.

Cheers.

This is my last hope, I have tried pretty much everything I can think of.

I am running a unique setup but the run down is this: I need to use a custom INF because NVIDIA sucks with their 3DTV lockdowns.

This works GREAT for 3D but I CAN NOT get any kind of surround sound out of it. It is showing 2ch http://blog.bagearon.com/downloads/NVIDIA-UN-3DTV.inf

My setup supports 7.1 ch and here's the INF from real-time. If you could copy over the AUDIO section to the modified NVIDIA one I WOULD GREATLY appreciate it ! This is the real-time inf http://www.sendspace.com/file/d19k1w

Thank you so much

EDIT:

Not even remotely sure how I found this post: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=2075

That works as perfectly as I can tell. I would still like mine modified if possible though Just so I can see how it is done. I tried myself but failed

1- Actual connection
Output of Nvidia 460 GTX goes to the splitter (input) and 2 outputs goes to :
output1 -> AVR 355
output2 -> Sanyo Z3000

2-
When i made moninfo : EDiD Sanyo-Harman.zip
For Harman AVR-355-1.inf :
I disconnect output2 to connect to output of my AVR-355
For Sanyo Z3000-1.inf :
I just remove my override inf and monitor pnp generic was detected and set.

After post my EDiD Sanyo-Harman.zip
I reconnect like above "1- Actual connection" and this time an harman was detected (not the same as before) and this one give me "Harman AVR-355-Detected_Boot.inf"
I have attached it and i think maybe it detected this one because AVR was online when the reboot occurs.

3-
I see that there is a diff between Harman AVR-355-Detected_Boot.inf and Harman AVR-355-1.inf but i don't know what.

Also i have retry DTS-HD HRA with TMT or LAV and no sound It's possible that Harman didn't handle DTS HRA sound ? all other format is working.

But i will make test with the merged inf when you have time to do it ?
And my last question how do you merge it ?
Thanks.
Seb.

Hello,

i have a HTPC with Asus P8H67-M Evo with an Intel I3 (2.Generation sandy bridge) and an Ati HD 6450. The HTPC is connected with HDMI to an Onkyo TX-NR 3007 and from the Receiver with HDMI to an Samsung 37C650 LCD. My problem is that i can only play DTS-HD Master with 1536kbps, so only the Core. My Onkyo shows me DTS-HD Master. I have already the Ati HDMI and the last Catalyst Driver installed. In Windows i have configured an 7.1 System. I play DTS-HD Streams with MPC HC with LVA Audio Decoder with DTS-HD passtrough. Is this in EDID Problem? Can anyone help me and check my inf's?

Greetings from Germany

I only found 2 hex fields that were different in the HK EDIDs, one in each block in a video timings descriptor. Can't explain the difference but I don't think it's relevant.

I attach the EDID override, but with a standard 1-block audio descriptor (the HK has 2). Maybe this will help with the EDID parsing by the driver (if this is really the cause of of your issue).

For general information about a how-to procedure for doing the merge see here.

It's not a problem at all! AFAIK the bitrate displayed is only nominal, so if the AVR is detecting a DTS-HD stream there's no issue. In any event there's no EDID detection problem either.

See here for more info.

I have a Denon AVR-4311CI which has HDMI 1.4a connections. However, when I do an EDID capture using Moninfo it appears to show HDMI 1.3. Is this correct or does this indicate that the cable between the NVIDIA GTX 460 card and the AVR is not 1.4 compliant?? See attached screen clips.

That's the EDID Version and Revision number (1.3), not the HDMI specification version. Are you having issues with 3D in your setup?

Yes, I can only manage 3D at 720P, not 1080P. Have tried compliant AMD and NVIDIA vidcards, both PDVD11 and TMT5, have Quad Core AMD cpu which barely registers usage with the vidcards (HD6850 or GTX460). The setup is: vid card to AVR 4311CI via 6' bettercables.com Silver Serpent High Speed hdmi cable; AVR to Panasonic PT AE-7000U via 50' high quality DVI-D cable (I think 24ga conductors..about 1/2 inch in diameter) with MonsterCable brand DVI/HDMI adapters each end.

Post the native PT AE-7000U EDID for an EDID Override. It could fix your problem (which I guess it's not happening when connecting directly to the Panasonic?). Otherwise it could be a driver problem.

Hello,

I just finished a new build using an Intel i3 2100 and iGPU and TMT5 as my player. As with any blu-ray, I can not get any video once selecting "play", nor the DTS-HD option. DVD's play fine after solving the video driver issue. I have used one of your other overrides for another HTPC and worked perfectly for the same issue, but I was wondering about selecting an override for this setup. I am using an HC-4000 mits projector with a Denon AVR-2310. There is an override similar in the DB, but not an exact merged file. (Mits HC-5500 & Denon 1909). Can I give that one a shot or will it muck things up even worse? I am currently at work and can't provide the original proj and AVR EDID until later tonight, if needed.

Thanks for your assistance.

OK, here is the inf for PT-AE7000U and the inf for the AVR-4311 that I used for the override. I actually loaded the AVR-4311 override file to the generic monitor in device manager for the override, not the AE7000U; is that correct?

Going to try

I look the inf in moninfo and it seems that there is less audio available compared to both inf detected.
It's maybe because 2 to 1 block audio descriptor

Report my result later
Thanks

Unfortunately Intel IGPs don't accept EDID overrides. Try playback with a different player (e.g MPC-HC) to narrow down the issue to either TMT5 or driver setup.

TULLI FOR USA PRESIDENT!!
Tulli,
Thanks very much; your edid override worked perfectly as far as I have tested so far. I tried a couple of 3d bds and they did in fact work at 1080p/24 and regular bds still work and sd dvds still work.

I did have to move back to the AMD 6850 for the HD Audio to work easily when I got your genius code installed. I am delighted to have everything working perfectly again and with the bonus of Full Scale 3D. All I had to do was set the resolution to 1080p/24 after loading your edid to the monitor driver file.
Thank you!!
Dan

Hello everyone!!:

I have a problem with my sound, prob someone here can help me out.

My setup is : laptop (nvidia gtx 460m)>>hdmi>>samsung tv (UN40D6050)>>home teather

The problem is that control panel in Windows 7 shows only 2.1 channels... from what I've read I need to override the EDID to get 5.1 channels. Am I correct? Can anyone help me please?

The problem is that control panel in Windows 7 shows only 2.1 channels... from what I've read I need to override the EDID to get 5.1 channels. Am I correct? Can anyone help me please?

I attach the EDID override, but with a standard 1-block audio descriptor (the HK has 2). Maybe this will help with the EDID parsing by the driver (if this is really the cause of of your issue).

For general information about a how-to procedure for doing the merge see here.

Hi Tulli,

This one works like the one i have, so i mean DTS-HR didn't work
It's really weird, maybe my AVR didn't handle that after all.
Thanks for your help

Mod attached. Note that uncompressed 6-LPCM is not possible over S/PDIF, only 2-LPCM & compressed 5.1 AC3 & DTS. Not sure that your Samsung will accept DTS passthrough.

Hey guys, I have a GTX460 + 3DTVPlay that I'm trying to feed through a non-3D Pioneer VSX919. This AVR actually seems to handle frame packed 720p/60 and MPCM just fine (3D PS3 games work flawlessly), but since Nvidia uses their EDID whitelist with 3DTVPlay obviously it does not. Will it be possible for me to use the EDID of a newer 3D compliant AVR to get 3DTVPlay to work as well?
