I bought a HiPix DTV-200 when they first came out from Digital Connection and just wondered if anyone is still using this grand daddy of all HDTV cards (and how it is doing for you).

The avscience edition software modifications (thank you John Rees and others!) led to a wonderfully stable HTPC component, something that Telemann itself just couldn't seem to accomplish.

I no longer have my card and just wondered if anyone still had one (and perhaps wanted to sell it... if so, private message me). I am re-living some old experimentation, having pulled out my old Hollywood Plus and Sigma Designs X-Card. Everything old is new again! That is what this hobby is all about. The screwing around.

I have two of them, still use them and I am very satisfied.
Unfortunately there is no more support from PVR, Mike and others, so this software works the best on WIN 2000 and doesn't work on Vista.
They are very reliable cards. And what is most important for me – I can edit recorded programs, remove advertising or to separate small parts of program for archiving.
For short period of time I was thinking about selling them. I didn’t and I am glad that I didn’t.

One thing I do remember about the HiPix was that is was a LONG pci card. If I remember correctly, about a full three inches longer than my MYHD MDP-130 card. One long sucker, and that daughter card took up even more room. But I didn't care so much because the card worked great. It even skipped commercials with the John Rees software mod. This should be a lesson to other companies about open sourcing their product... they get a much better product and enthusiasts who work well into the night for the love of the hobby.

I still have my HiPix DTV-200 and was using it until the motherboard died about a month ago. The video preview window does not work properly with my new PCI Express video card (horizontal sync messed up), so I am upgrading to a FusionHDTV7 Dual Express. I would still like to keep the HiPix for DVR use, but the interlaced video does not play well with my LCD monitors.

Any suggestions on the "sync" issue?

I have on of these and was thinking of using it in a HTPC to my Runco.
Anybody have any of the upgrade software for it or know where to find it?
When I search I find a lot of dead links.
Thanks

I still have one of these HiPix DTV 200 cards eek.gif I just found it in the closet in it's original box .I thought I sold it years ago..oh well I guess I didn't ..

Think I'll put it up for sale and see what happens. tongue.gif

PS: I just did a search for the drivers and sure enough I found a link but it's for Windows ME..LOL

That's what I had way back then and boy oh boy it was a pain .

I remember when we use to go crazy over watching HD on PBS before any of the major networks had HD and then one by one shows started to trickle in. This was before the attack on the WTC mad.gif

What was that loop that played over and over with the octopus on PBS ?

I still have two HTPCs using this cards. I use WIN XP. After XP there was no update for these cards anymore.
For daily use I have two HTPCs with WIN7 MC.
Why I still keep HiPix? Because I can easy edit recordings.
I use HiPix HTPC for special events like Olympics, World Cup in Soccer, Wimbledon, US Open etc. Then I cut off parts I am not interested in and keep only fragments I like.

How are you scheduling the recordings? TitanTV?

Also, do you have the XP version of the drivers?
