No one should ever go easy on a critique smile.gif

That being said, I think it's a great start for your first page. Web design is preference driven, and I'd like to offer my opinion with some examples. Here are 3 relevant links in my order of preference (in regards to web design wink.gif )
  1. http://www.mediabrowser3.com/
  2. http://openelec.tv/
  3. http://xbmc.org/

While I'm currently a huge fan of the 2nd and 3rd links for my own HTPC preferences, I have to say the XBMC web page is the most lackluster of the three. What makes the first two more appealing to current web design trends is the page layout. Text is boxed into several different areas with a few graphics here and there and some well planned space.

I think the xbmc page is probably the closest to your page, and the biggest difference is really a couple of simple tweaks (in my mind)
  1. Different sized fonts for Titles and body
  2. Justified text w/ defined width
  3. Lines separating title from paragraph
  4. White space

As a note, I'm not in any way a web designer. Just a detailed observer with too many opinions smile.gif
