I built a PC a while back and couldn't get the TV tuner card working. I gave up at that point and have recently been trying to get something happening with no luck!

The card is a KWORLD PlusTV HD PCI-115 TV Tuner ATSC 115 PCI:

I have cablevision HD cable service and using the coaxial cable output (trying both of the inputs on the card) from the cable box I have tried scanning for digital and analog channels on the PC. I have only managed to pick up 4 channels which seem to be the same SD signal with various levels of quality. That basically seems to be an output of the channel that is being shown on the cable box as I need to change channel manually on that.

What am I doing wrong here? I built my PC so I'm happy tinkering but I have spent so much time on this and made no progress - it's driving me nuts!!!!

Any tips? I'm hoping there's a DOH! moment that will make everything clear.

You don't connect the tuner to the cable box. You connect it directly to the wall.

The way you have it set-up, it's only getting what your cable box sends it (at the lowest quality, even, likely on analog channel 3 or 4).

And yeah, it's kinda a big doh...
