Exactly how I feel about Vista. It was fine and all, and better than XP, but, it was a pig. 7 is SO much more refined and better suited to HTPC duty.

OK, I finally got the third option on PDVD9 to my Onkyo 805 with the help of this thread and, particularly, varkeast who sent me the Onkyo 906 .inf file that finally got the 805 to bitstream HD audio and the difference is clear and appreciated.

But, now, 24 Hz video is not an option under ATI CCC. It was before I installed the 906 .inf. 25i is as low as it goes, and it shows...my JVC RS1 projector confirms 50Hz is the frame rate - the projector doubles it, and occasional skipping is visible.

Any ideas? Reinstall the 9.11 driver?

Well, maybe the EDID HD video descriptors of the Onkyo 906 are not in the order expected by the ATI driver? So far AFAIK no one using that EDID override has reported that 24hz issue. I get all refresh rates with my Denon override so I'd say yes, go ahead and reinstall the ATI driver.

A driver cleaning before installing would help. Use Driver Cleaner (not free) or Driver Sweeper (free).

Fixed with MPC Audio Renderer, thanks guys.

ffdshow_bitstream beta 54 works with MPC Audio Renderer and i can see the blue light on my AVR's front panel for both HD audio formats

46 as well.

Both 46 and 54 is working on Seven too

Hey Rica, you can start using forum.doom9.org instead of the IP in links now. DNS has been fixed over there for quite a while now. Nice work on the Vista testing. I'm sure you'll be happy to get back to 7.

Sorry if it is a repetition davin:

Make sure:

You are on SP2?

Updated DirectX End-User Runtime?

Have MS Net FrameWork 3 or later?

Registered proppage.dll coming with the latest Windows SDK?

Thanks my friend but you know you have to wait some days for your approval to doom9; so nobody who's not a member may ask something there

I was referring to this, actually:

Instead of the ip address, you can start using forum.doom9.org again as the DNS problem has been fixed.

HEHEHE. That's a BIG sacrifice going back to Vista once you've touched 7.

OK but if you are on 7, it must be more easier to get THD bitstreming?

Settings are the same for seven and lets make a little modification on these:

Code:
Make sure:
Updated DirectX End-User Runtime?
Registered proppage.dll coming with the latest 7 SDK?

No, no True HD, but I am getting bitstreamed lpcm >I'm thinking< Nothing but the AVR controls audio output. MPC nor window's audio controls work. In Xonar these could affect volume.

True HD 5.1 is outputing lpcm 7.1 The New World

Audio with Star Trek ISO is spastic.

Good news on the EDID issue guys. Someone had an unrelated issue with the 4xxx series cards and got the following response from ATI support (excerpt):

This may be also related to the 4000 series, so you may want to try that when it comes out later on this week.

Ok, quick question.

My HTPC running a ATI 5750 (HDMI) output to my reciever (Yamaha RX-V1700).

The RX-V1700 does not support bitstreaming so i want to make sure i'm getting the correct stream to get LPCM.

In TMT3 I selecting HDMI and origanal steam. But when i play a blue ray it says DTS on my reciever and not PCM.

Anyone know why this is?

Thanks!

The new Realtek 2.39 drivers are now out. After installation, the supported formats include DTS-HD and Dolby TRUEHD. I have to use the Realtek drivers due to them being the only stable ones for Win 7 Media Centre TV when in Dolby digital mode.

Will someone try these out with PowerDvd and let us know if it is bitstreaming the DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD correctly?
