An eq would great btw... what I'd like to see would be DPL II from any stereo source - eg from Winamp output... or the ability to use PowerDVD XP sound filters.

Everything's been quiet lately... Cliff - could you at least say what new stuff is being implemented or will the new version be just a bug fix?

He has already postet that information in this topic.

For all the people with "problems" adjusting volume, here's what I've done:

One of the buttons on my Logitech keyboard has been set to launch the Delta Control Panel.
To do that you make a shortcut to "c:\\windows\\system32\\control.exe c:\\windows\\system32\\deltacpl.cpl"

Then when I press the buttom the control panel launches and I leave the selector at Volume Control.
Thus when I press the buttom it launches and I can adjust volume, either with the scroller on the left of the keyboard, or preferably with the arrow-buttons.

Just sharing a tip with you people.
As a temporary solution it works good here.

Writing software takes unbelievable amounts of time. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the new version was ready anytime in April.

That would be nice :) Anyway, I just wanted to know what the "status" was... Thanks for the insight :)

Can these drivers be used at all on the 1010LT, maybe just with unavailable inputs?

Cliff,

I'm having more bass-problems

Try playing back some stereo content with good bass-content.

Then under Patchbay/Router, select something not used (for not getting output to the main speakers). This makes it much easier to hear whats missing.

Now go to the Bass Management tab,

Select a crossover of 40 Hz.

Select a volume of -36 dB. The sub is now completely silent. Now put it up one notch to -35 dB. Now the sub is playing in all it's glory. It's the same as the other bug I reported.

Now with 60 Hz, select a volume of -43 dB. Now the sub is not playing. Select -42 dB. Then it's playing.

With 80 Hz, it's -48 dB = silence, -47 dB = music.
With 90 Hz, it's -51 dB = silence, -50 dB = music
With 100 Hz, it's -52 dB = silence, -51 dB = music
With 120 Hz, it's -55 dB = silence, -54 dB = music.

Silence is:

Subwoofer is completely silent, the Sub Channel adjustment doesn't work.
Music is output and the Sub Channel adjustments works.

Looking forward to next tuesday :)

jimwhite,

As a 1010LT owner I was curious about this too and simply installed the beta driver to find out. I'm still a newbie with M-Audio and the 1010LT, but for what its worth, here's what I found:

1. No installation error - installation proceded normally
2. There was no Bass Managment tab in my M-Audio control panel
3. The M-Audio sys tray icon was present, allowing quick access to the M-Audio controls
4. The Hardware Settings tab was present - unfortunately I don't remember enough of the non-beta functionality to make a comparison - lots of stuff to play with.
5. System was stable - no crashes/lockups

Basically it looks like for now, most of the new features in the beta driver are for the 410 only. Since the 1010LT can in theory support these features (I think), hopefully at some point support for the 1010LT will be enabled as well.

Sherbona & Jim,

We are restricting the bass management beta test to the 410 until we “get it rightâ€. Once the new drivers are released the 1010LT will be supported.

â€I'm having more bass-problemsâ€

Esben,

Actually it is the same problem as previously reported. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next beta installment.

Yes, I reported it earlier.

But this time I'm submitting cause it is more problematic than earlier.
I don't mind that much if the sub is off at volumes below -54 dB, but if it's off at any volume below -35 dB I find it way worse.

I was in fact not aware of the problem was as broad as I explained in my last post, but I later found out, and thus wanted to tell you about it as well.

Esben,

It’s the same bug in the low pass filter. Notice as the crossover frequency goes up so does the cut-off end point.

I did somehow notice that, but was not aware of it was a bug in the lowpass filter :p

Hi Guys,

Sorry about not having the next beta version posted today. The programmers have asked for a one-day extension.

i have a problem, i cannot go higher than 44100 khz, and 16 bit.

in cubase SX audio config, if I unselect "only use 16 bit", nothing works, and if I set a higher frequency, it gets back to 44100 when i start up cubase.

do you know why it does this ?

thx

do you happen to also have a motherboard sound system activated? For instance, the SondMax stuff used on Asus motherboards has a plug-n-play helper-app that loads to watch the input/ouput connections, and it will prevent you from changing the data rate on a Delta card.... been there, done that!

:D

make sure you uninstall the drivers and software for the on-board sound.... especially any tray-apps!
