I recently purchased some HP/ASUS WINTV -NXP FM1236/F H-5- PCI-E X1 5189-1098 tuner cards. This card looks like an ASUS knock off of the Hauppage HVR-1800, manufactured for HP. I installed them in my Dell I7 desktop, and they were not even recognized by the Device Manager.
Anyone have any experience with these?
Possible they are only compatible with an HP machine? The 5189-1098 is the HP part #.

Curious, have you tried installing the Hauppauge drivers?

Finally got it working. Put it in a different slot and it was recognized. It is really a ViXS PURETV-U48B0. The driver was loaded by Windows 7> Still haven't got the FM radio playing.....
