Thank you CZ Eddie. I have been waiting for the HDHomerun Dual Tuner to go on sale for months. I was hoping to buy 2 of them for $100 each. But thanks to you, I just bought 2 of them for $85 each! Today has been an epic win!

Just ordered one... thanks for the heads up! Is there a way to use HDHomeRun with some kind of an app on a Popcorn Hour C-200, PS3 or other media player (besides a computer) to watch live TV on my projector? Hoping to get rid of the standalone OTA tuner I have.

I did a Google search and see people are using HDHomeRun in combination with a WHS and SageTV software, but will this allow me to watch w/o a computer in between the setup and my projector? I have a WHS.

Question....

Would I be able to run a HDHomeRun dual (for over air broadcasts) and either a HDHomeRun Prime or Ceton card (with Time Warner) all on the same Windows 7 box using windows media center? I would like to use the HDHomeRun dual for local broadcasts over the air and the Prime/Ceton for everything else. I will be using a mix of DMA2100 and slim 360's as extenders...

What are the tuner restrictions again? Thanks

You'll need a computer to use the HDHomerun. It can be a WHS server, WMC on Win 7 (probably on older OSs too), or Linux. It will work on SageTV but I think you need a server and an extender (which is actually a PC).

I have one working with XBMC as a tuner. I need PVR capability though so I'm considering SageTV.

Shouldn't be a problem. The HDhomerun is a network device so you don't have the available slots/type limitations that you have with cards you install into a PC.

I use one for OTA and I get approx 70 channels. Who knew what junk a decent antenna would pick up.

Has nothing to do with the HDHomerun itself. You would not get any more digital channels with any other QAM tuner including the ones built into TVs.

Not a problem. My HTPC has a Ceton InfiniTV4 and two Hauppauge 2250 ATSC tuners. In addition, I have a HDHomeRun Prime and a standard HDHomeRun dual tuner connected to my network and configured for use with the same PC as well as several others. The software for the Prime is the same used for the standard HDHR so all you'd need to do is hook it up to your network and rescan for tuners in the HDHR setup app. You'll also need to rerun the TV signal setup in Media Center to let it find the new tuners.

Did Woot charge you $5 shipping per unit, for a total of $10, or will Woot ship both for $5? Thanks.

You are asking about a transaction that is about 2 years old.

No, it's on today again for $69.99.

I think that's why CZ Eddie wrote "and yet again..... "

Did you ever find out if they charge $5 for each? I assume the answer is yes, but I don't know.

THANKS!!! In for 2! Registering with Woot now

*Edit*
You can order up to 3 units for $69.99 apiece and pay just $5 for shipping. This is the best deal on I've seen on HDHR3-US... I think Amazon's historic low point was $79 each, and the original Woot deal that started this thread was for $85 each.

This is one old thread that was worth resurrecting

I "wooted" one yesterday too!

I'd been looking at the old models on ebay for about $55-60, but I'm much happier with this one at $75.

its woot... don't you ever woot??
its always $5 per Order (1 to 3 items per order)
doesn't matter if it is a HDhomerun, a vacuum, or 3 60" TV's or a $1.99 woot screaming monkey... shipping is always just $5...

NOTE: As one wise professional something once stated, I am ignorant & childish, with a mindset comparable to 9/11 troofers and wackjob conspiracy theorists. so don't take anything I say as advice...

Mine came in today (Woot deal). If these are refurbs or anything like that you can't tell from the box. Make sure you get the driver on line rather than the one in the box.
