Hi there:

I put together a new machine last night using the DH55HC intel ATX board along with a Core i5-650. I loaded up windows xp sp3 on it and it seems to be working fine, except for one issue. Whenever I reboot XP, I get a "GFXUI.exe has quit unexpectedly..." and then it asks me to send an error report.

I updated the BIOS to the latest version (which did some weird stuff afterwards like reinstall some IDE drivers, etc) and also updated to the most recent drivers. I also did all of the windows xp updates (even the optional net framework ones) but it hasn't taken care of the issue.

At this point, I'm not sure a. how big a deal this is and b. if it's jsut an XP thing. The PC is just hosting some files now, but I may use it as my HTPC with Windows 7 down the road so I want to see if it could be a hardware issue.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Chris

New wealth is created in 2 ways:
You dig it from the ground (mining and oil)
Or you grow it (fishing, farming and forestry).
Everything else is just processing what you dug up or grew.

For those who still struggle GFXUI.exe - it is most probably a driver problem (incorrect/corrupt), however I found that it has to do with .Net Framework security permissions settings - verifying these two factors solves the problem.
