Hi! I have decide to capture my olds vhs tapes into my computer, and I had decided to make into MKV.

I have Windows 7, and now my problem is that Windows 7 is not able to edit the metadata of a MKV file, such as rating, tags, keywords, title, comments, etc...

I have tried with MP4 and windows explorer is capable to do this without problems, simply right-click the file and click on Details.

I have searched for other software to edit my MKV's and add rating and tags, but I have no found any.

Why MKV doesnt support tagging?

I have read that MP4 container also support H264/X264 codec, then... is best MP4 than MKV?

Thanks

"Media Center Master" (to autotag metadata) and Mediabrowser (to view metadata in WMC) will resolve this.

It's easier just to create a folder for each movie and xml it. I fought it too until I finally saw the light. If you name the MKV/MP4 correctly (name with year) mediabrowser will normally pick it up, even w/o a xml file.
