Hi guys,

Here's the situation, I've got a HTPC comming soon and I want to run audio through my AVR, but I have no idea how to do it. I have posted the same question in an older thread but components in the HTPC have changed.

Here's what I have.

HTPC (the important bits)
MSI 880GM-E43
AMD Athlon X4 640
Sapphire 5670 512mb

An old Denon AVR-1604
w/ 5.1 speaker setup

Now, what I want to do is:
Run video through the 5670 to the TV (with a HDMI cable)
Run audio from the PC to the AVR then to the speakers. How do I do that (where to where, what cable, etc...)?

I would have suggested a different MB with a S/PDIF digital out on the backplane but since it doesn't have one there you'll need to use the digital out header pins to go to your Denon digital in.

get one of these

use either one to run to your receiver, does not matter if you use optical or caxial
