I would like to use Netflix in my Windows Media Center on Windows 7, but the interface for the plugin is terrible. Episodes are flattend into a long list. To get to the bottom of the list I have to click the down arrow on my remote in some cases around 100 times to get through the list. Is there better software or plugins with a decent interface for HTPC?

you have no idea how bad it used to be. they used to put each separate season into its own folder which sometimes you would get season one to show sometimes not and sometimes you had to search for season 2 and sometimes they would be in different categories. it was impossible to watch a show. at least now its all in one spot.

Well I don't know why they don't have some way to jump to a season or remove a season I've already watched. I don't know why you can't use Page Up and Page down. It seems they are only thinking of people using a web browser, not a remote control. They have plenty of examples of good interfaces for HTPC: xbmc, Boxee, MediaStream, PlayOn, etc.

Oh well, I'll just use my browser.

when you say "they" I assume you mean the programmers at Netflix?

I'm fairly sure that each company is responsible for coding their own plugins for Netflix...so in this case it's Microsoft's fault.

Thought Netfix wrote it and MS just included it.

Anyway, was just hoping someone had written a better plugin. This one is ok for movies, but for television series with many episodes it's hard to navigate.

this appears to be something netflix is doing across mulitple platforms; they recently implemented it in the xbox interface also.

Well, it works great in my web browser, just not with the plugin. Guess I'll just have to live with it.

Thanks for the help.

I think when I get home, I'm going to see if I can get EventGhost installed and try to get a little better functioning for the Netflix plugin. Just being able to page down would help alot.

If Netflix writes the plugins, then what's up with the huge differences in them from various BD players, Roku, Xbox/PS3/Wii, and WMC?

You would think it'd be better standardized! Just the search feature can vary wildly from system to system. I wish Netflix would revisit some of these plugins.

So on the Wii, the 'play next episode' works beautifully.
But in 7MC, when I open up a season and press 'play', it ALWAYS plays the last episode I watched.

Anyone else?

Same.

I really like Netflix. Lets hope they'll improve the HTPC scene more. It is the wave of the future. Streaming/downloading is much more convenient then waiting for a show to be on or missing episodes you may never see again. Maybe when they start working on the HTML5 version it will get better.
