Hi, My issue is that when I try to play music (WMA,AAC,WAV are the ones I've tried) it either wont make any sound or play it in slow motion. Equipment are as follows: PC Acer Aspire AX1200-B1792A w/ DA078L Boxer mobo. With a new sound card: ASUS Xonar Essence STX with S/PDIF combo output through coaxial to my receiver: Onyko TX-SR608. I think I have ruled out the receiver as being the problem because it plays Dolby digital 5.1 from dvds off my PC perfectly. But I get nothing or slow motion from music. I keep thinking its either the computer settings or the soundcard/settings. This is really frustrating me any help would be much appriecated. Please let me know if you need more info.

WOW I am so happy all I did was set the speakers as default in Control panel > Sound > Speakers. Instead of just the digital output. You would think the sound card would say something about this. Wow what a relief. Peace

I feel your pain. When playing BRs with pcm audio, I had to set the output device to speakers from spdif too.
