I added the HD-Trailers (http://feeds.hd-trailers.net/) podcast to my Theater View, and it works great for the MP4 trailers, but it also downloads MOV trailers which don't work. The MOV file has no length and is only a couple of KB in size. Are you seeing this too?

You might need to install Quicktime to play MOV and then set MC to play it with iTunes under options for File Types.

Any idea why the Avengers 2 trailer I found won't play in JRiver.

Specifically the 1080P - 2014-11-04 - Special Look Trailer - 5.1 Audio - mp4 clip won't play in JRiver, but it will play in my other media players. IE - It will play in Windows Media Player, Cyber Power Powerdvd etc...

I'm using the newest patch level of v18.

But it's an MP4 file, that's not new tech right? I was curious originally if there was some sort of weird DRM on the file or something?

You can manually update v18 to the latest codecs if you don't want to upgrade for ~$26. However, you lose all the custom configuration done behind the scenes for the JRiver version.

Download the latest build of LAVFilters. Run the installation file and choose to install in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 18\Plugins

There should now be an lav and LAV Filters folder in the Plugins folder. Browse to LAV Filters\x86 and copy all the files into the lav folder. You can then delete the LAV Filters folder.

If that's the case, then it's a question for the Slysoft guys, not for JRiver. They have their own forum for support.

I already sent them an email..I just thought that maybe since alot of JRiver people use anydvd(it was several people on this forum that sent me to their product)
That i would ask if anybody had any suggestions...why is it that people would rather bust balls about what thread is for what instead of offering advice or not saying anything if you dont have anything to offer...its true i am asking a question about another program but its a program a lot of people use with this one so cut me some slack

-i tried searching for a slysoft or anydvd thread and only found a generic ripping bluray thread where they are all saying to get make mkv..im just wondering is this one of those things that you need every different ripping program to rip every disc?
im sorry for snapping at you i assumed you were telling me to not ask the question here...i guess thats why they say to never assume...something about making an ass out of u & me..lol

Since the disks work fine for me, I don't think it is any anyDVD issue, either. If I ever have some disks that can't be scanned by anyDVD, then the discs are either dirty or my Blu-ray drive is going out.

I am ripping my bluray collection and I knew I had problems with a bluray drive so I bought an external bluray drive. And one brand new disc I had was indeed dirty and I don't think I've ever played it. It was part of a multi-bluray pack and all of the other discs were pristine but the first one was extremely dirty. Washed it and it ripped fine. So I'd agree on trying a different drive and potentially washing the disk.

I don't think this is a JRiver program issue. I have QT Lite installed and I can play a movie saved in the mov file type (just not one of the trailers).

I think it is a hd-trailers issue (or something on my computer). For some reason the trailers are not downloading when they are .mov file types. The mov file looks more like it is a link (because they are only 28Kb or so in size, and that's not big enough to be a trailer).

Jim, be sure to update AnyDVD HD to the latest version. They update their software regularly as new protection/disks come out. The current version is 7.5.9.4.

I should have said Quicktime above, not iTunes. Sorry. I changed it.

I have ripped the bluray of John Wick without issue...whenever I have a issue with anydvd scanning a disc continually it has always been a dirty or broken disc. Do you have a standalone bluray player hooked up to your playback system? If so, try playing the bluray using it to see if it will play or not.

I use a separate program to rip my BDs because I just want the main movie (no trailers or extras). I use the free "ClownBD" available at the Slysoft website https://forum.slysoft.com/showthread...Burn-Made-Easy. I also bought a license for Slysoft's "CloneBD" but it is still in early beta and not working too well for some (me). If you want to figure out how to rip the "movie only" I think I can help you.
In a couple of weeks or months, Clone BD will be working well enough to do the entire job (IMO) - it's just not quite there yet.

You can set anyDVD to not show any title's less than 20 minutes. This pretty much eliminates all trailers and extras so I usually just end up with the main movie when ripping with JRiver.

I have done about 260 bds so far and 200 dvds with anydvd and either cloneBD/JRiver/CloneDVD/ANYDVDRipper
for some reason my JRiver wont rip DVDs and I just do the movies only with clone bd or dvd if they dont work i go to JRiver or the anydvd ripper and just do the whole movie...im about 1/2 way thru my collection

It would be nice if JRiver had the ability to rip DVD's, CD's and maybe even Blurays so that we wouldn't have to mess with all of this other software stuff.
