i just tried this, with nvidia 23hz selected, i get frame drop every 2.88 min or so, is that right with 24p material? 24hz was worse so i assume this is correct?

oh, nice catch, i missed that.

before madvr had deinterlacing, you needed ffdshow or lav cuvid for deinterlacing.

did a lot of testing last night, the madvr seems pretty cool, but i'm still not sure what presentation glitches means. I was watching a 25p movie at 50hz and getting lots of presentation glitches , and when I tried it at 25hz, I got no presentation glitches but it was very obvious the movie was jittering.

Simple: "presentation glitches" are glitches that happen somewhere in either Direct3D or in the GPU drivers, not in madVR. The answer may not be so helpful.

cool, thank you for the answer. with 23.976, running the refresh rate right close to there, I had to customize the resolution to get it better, I don't seem to be getting presentation glitches and frame repeat or frame drop is like 1 every 25 minutes, I assume that is decent?

is there like a good set of settings or something to use?

Yes, a frame drop per 25 minutes is good.

A 25p movie? I don't see such a BD movie. Is this a DVD 576i50 movie?

Okay, so it's not something that is installed during your setup guide.
Dang, I was hoping I was missing something that might explain the problems I've been having.
Guess I'm back to blaming hardware mismatches then.

Hi to All

There is a guide to configure MPC-HC with SVP ( SmoothVideo Project ) oriented to Blu-ray and DVD files?
I found this:

http://translate.google.com/translat...1%258F_ffdshow

but more important parts are in russian

Thanks

so had it happen again last night. was about hour and 15 minutes into a film with 3 dropped frames in fullscreen mode. then I noticed the film stutter, checked the stats and it was up to 49 dropped frames. then film continued to play normally.

is anyone else using a nvidia gt430 card that has this working correctly? i see all these screenshots of 1 frame drop every hour or something like that and the best I can get is 1 frame drop every 38 minutes or so. I think i've tried 50 different resolution settings for 23.976 at this point.

I just did this all on Windows 7 on a GT555M, and I'm getting a ridiculously low framerate. And by that I mean I'm getting exactly 1fps, consistently. It's obvious I've done something wrong - is there anywhere I should start troubleshooting first?

Below is the performance readout MPC-HC gives me, and everything seems to check out - video's still playing at 1fps, though. It's at the normal speed, but it only shows a frame about every second.

Will mpc-hc ever support screensaver playback while pausing video? Out of the box would be nice to have. Nevertheless there is no resolution to achieve this with tweaks, or is it?

I'm using mpc-hc on my htpc connected to a plasma tv - ticklish issue

You can ask Chainik in SmoothVideo Project (SVP)/Frame Interpolation (FI) from Russia thread.

@Ickibod, try settings your chroma upscaling and luma upscaling + luma downscaling to Bilinear. You may also try checking some of the trade quality for performance settings. I suspect your video card is not strong enough for the default settings since your renderer and backbuffer queue are starved.

In the guide at the beginning it says to put WMVideo DMO ahead of LAV Video. Can someone explain the reasoning behind that please?

WMVideo DMO supports interlaced VC-1, while LAV Video Decoder does not. An alternative is Intel software decoder built in madVR.

Is there a codec I'm missing maybe?
I get audio but no video. And get this error that I posted a screenshot of.

The latest driver & MPC-HC version combo is giving me perfect video & audio playback on .WTV.
I still get the notification about pins, but after clicking "ok" on it the video plays perfectly.

It turns out there is an option in MPC-HC where you can disable any errors about pins. So after removing that option, I can start up & play WTV files without any problem now.

Anyone know how to make the mouse scroll wheel make the videos skip ahead or backwards like it does in JRiver?

Can WTV files be launched to play in MPC-HC from Media Center's "Recorded Tv" list? Or do you have to set up the library in Media Browser?

Try custom resolution of 23.978. There's also another number that is 1125 (can't remember) that I change to 1124. With those changes I get 1 frame drop every few hours.

have that, in fact I chanted it to 23.979 as that seems to work better, but still best is 1 frame drop every 30 minutes. I watched one movie and it was like 4-5 frame drops through the whole movie, but other movies, there is a definate stutter effect and the frames jump drops shoot up like I mentioned before, I know its not the movies as its done that effect with 2-3 movies. I think the gt430 and x2 64 2200+ can't handle playing 1080p SBS.
