Hi All,

I'm going to build another HTPC and I think I overbuilt the last one.

I'd like a few suggestions on a video card that can be used for broadcast TV (will get a tuner card) and Blu-ray. No gaming at all. I have a 55" Vizio (240HZ with LED backlighting). I prefer a fanless card or something very quiet if it does have a fan. Obviously with HDMI.

I'm not sure if I need a $69 card or if I'm going to be in the $300 range.

Thank you in advance for your help.

If you're starting from scratch the new AMD APUs have a decent built in GPU. The 65W series is fairly quiet. e.g. A6-3500

I have built several systems using the Gigabyte GeForce 8400 card which is inexpensive and works well. Also, the HDMI port will carry the system's sound signal as well.

If you are building new I'd get an I3 based system and just use the integrated graphics.

Okay, so I can use the integrated HDMI on the mobo without any problems? I am starting from scratch as my current build has started developing issues after 3-years of continuous use.
