MSI N430GT-MD1GD3/OC GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

I have an i3-530 on a Gigabyte H55-USB3 motherboard and don't need 3D playback as neither my AVR or HDTV is capable anyhow. I was thinking of getting this to upgrade to use MadVR. Just wondering if this card is cabable of doing what I need.

Thanks.

This should be okay with your current spec (case and space pending). I cannot comment on MadVR, though I gather from reading here that the 430 will work.

Note that the card has been commented and reviewed as having a loud fan! If you are using it with vicinity of your watching, you might want to get something quieter.

Thanks. I did see the comments on fan noise but there's only 6 comments on newegg. Two of those are the same guy! So not quite a consensus.. It will fit in my case I believe. It is an Antec NSK-1380.

I was under the impression from reading here that using a video card with DDR5 memory was preferred for using MadVR. Renethx is the one to ask.

I do remember reading that a while back. Thanks. Maybe Rene will chime in here. This card is a good price but if it isn't going to do what I need it might as well be free and I wouldn't get it.

I think Rene says it right here.

Any other comments before this slips into oblivion or the Cyber Monday Encore Deal ends?
