Is it possible to get smooth playback out of mpc-hc? I've been playing for days now and still not perfect. I made custom 23.976 refresh for the gt430. Using lav cuvid. Tried evr custom, it is okay got awhile, but the line in display stats eventually goes too high and resets, causing issues. Mad vr flips out a couple times per film with massive stiffening, never seen that in evr custom. Trying evr sync now with the first sync option, it seems okay, but I had to enable d3d to stop tearing. Evr custom never had that problem. I don't seem to have these issues with xbmc. Just trying to get this pretty good. I have shark codecs and win 7 ultimate

Perfect for me with any format I throw at it using lav filters and madVR through an Epson projector. Also worked perfect on my Mits wd65c9. So yes, it's possible, but a lot depends on your hardware configuration and filter setup. There's some great guides out there.

Are you sure your computer is powerful enough? Are you able to get smooth playback using other software players?

I've never used Shark's codecs, but you should be able to get it working perfectly with 32 bit LAV filters, 32 bit MPC HC and madVR.

I think a lot of people have problems with refresh rate. I use madVR to set my refresh rate and disable autochange in MPC HC.

your version of MPC-HC is the problem. It is using internal decoders just like VLC does.
Get the version from my Tools page. It is preconfigured to use the installed codecs.

D3d can't do pan and scan and evr sync tears without it so that's out. Best I can get with mad vr is 1 dropped frame every 28 min, is that normal?
