I found Nirvana in my office:

1. Dacmagic Plus ASIO/USB2 with Foobar.
Linear PSU aftermarket.

2. Zamp v.3

3. Proac Tablette 50 speakers.

In my office setup the Dacmgic Plus now eliminated
the Griffin Powermate, allowing instant mute via vol button.

High speed audio is a reall bliss, i found out that my 2007
Dell Precision 370 has USB2 and can handle high speed sound.

Imaging is so detailed, AVRO Klassiek and Baroque reveal so much
more, i get lost in the sound. I did in all honesty try to ASIO Winamp
and WMP with same result, the ASIO plugins crashed more than they
worked. I would say 1 in 10 attempts worked. I am slowly moving all
system and Firefox audio to FOOBAR, this rather ugly looking app has
flawless ASIO implementation.

I did comparo listening via optical, then USB2 Win and ASIO via Winamp
and WMP, every time clarity and transparency with FOOBAR/ASIO beat
the xxxx out of the rest.

Oddly enough FOOBAR does not have radio player implementation, but
the player is super-intuitive, in minutes i created a folder with links to all
my favorites (Playlist shortcut). Every time i run a search related to it i
stumble upon radio broadcasting and musician discussions, it is valued by
those communities too.

My work at the office will be half as tedious now, or productivity will slack
because of the overinvolved listening.

Here is a little tutorial:

I have the original Dacmagic and would like to see a trade-in offer from Cambridge Audio for the Plus. The upgraded usb and the volume control are nice new features.
