Hi,

I just installed a GT430 to replace my onboard ATI and have a question on best settings. Can someone post (or point me to a link) the best settings for HTPC?

For the ATI drivers I was able to find a post listing suggested configuration...turning off image enhancements, color ranges, etc....

thanks for the help!

Same rule applies for nVidia just turn off any post processing let the card do everything in hardware.

What type of media file extensions do you watch and what are your media players?

I mainly just use MCE to play videos (media browser front end). Not using MPC-HC right now or anything.

Most of my videos are in Video_TS format. A few AVIs and MKVs sprinkled in there.

It would be helpful if anyone could post the actual settings...go to which tab and change which settings away from default. There seem to always be hidden options under advanced menus. At least...there were with ATI drivers.

GT440 here with J River Media Center 17. As previously posted, leave the settings at the default neutral settings. The only thing I did in the Nvidia driver is set scaling for the desktop to eliminate overscan when displaying the MC browser. I am using the Red October HQ HW accelerated setting in MC (MadVR and LAV) and the only settings in MadVR I have changed are the upscaling values (for SD DVD playback) and I adjusted the gamma from 2.20 to 2.15 to match the picture from my Oppo BDP-83.

I play MKV's exclusively - feature rips from BD's and DVD's.
