Is anyone else using the cinematic trailers feature and extremely disappointed with its implementation? I'm referring to the capability of Plex to stream a couple movie trailers that are coming soon to theaters?

In its current form Plex nearly always chooses to stream the most obscure foreign films or documentaries, regardless of the content you are about to watch. Worse still, it often repeats the same trailer with each new viewing. Additionally, despite specifically choosing the setting to stream only trailers of NEW and UNRELEASED movies, Plex often chooses movies that have already left the theater.

I used to use Cinema Experience on XBMC to for auto-streaming movie trailers and it did a MUCH MUCH better job. Properly matching the trailer's content rating, type, and exposure level (blockbuster vs independent film) to the movie that is queued up to play.

Plex made a big deal, press-wise, about this feature when they released it about a year ago but they haven't improved it one bit. It released as a fully broken feature with nary a word about improving it since.

Silly Question - I am tying to organize my movies a little better, can you have the same movies in more than one "Library"?

Basically I want to be able to identify / keep track of my Atmos Movies so I put them in a separate folder on my NAS, I also want them to be in a Separate Library so I can keep track of them BUT I want my family to be able to see them in my regular movie folder as well.

I haven't tried it yet but can't see why I can't add the Atmos Folder to my Regular Library as well right?

Denon AVR-X7200 - Klipsch RF-82 II Fronts, RC-62 II Center, RS-52 II Surrounds & R-112SW & Four CDT-5800-C II Ceilings for an Atmos 5.1.4 Setup.

It should work. You could also create an "Atmos" collection tag and use filters to display just the Atmos movies in your regular movie library.

Well, well look at the Big Brain on Ken!!! - lol

I've been using Plex for I don't even know how long and I've never even touched / considered using Tags before. I just did it and I have to say I love it, a very simple addition and easy to filter. Now the only question is there a way to select a bunch of movies and tag them all at once?

Thanks Ken, you are the Man!

Sure. Open your movie library and click the check-mark icon on the left, then click on each title you want to tag. Once you have the Atmos titles selected just click on the edit pencil.

Need assistance:
Running OPENELEC and Plexbmc:
Have multiple external HD.. works great.

I've ripped some Bluray discs to DTS-HD and DTS-True and experience loud pops, cracks and static in and out.

Have set the passthru to "yes" on configuration .

Using Onkyo SR706 as receiver....

Thanks

You know that the 706 and Onkyo receivers in general have a reputation of HDMI audio issues, right? I hope it isn't your issue, but if you google your issue you'll find lots of folks with the same problem.

Scroll through this for a little bit.
The "official" The Onkyo TX-SR706 Owners Thread

I suggest borrowing a receiver from a friend, or take your Kodi box to a friend's house, and see if the problem goes away so that you can determine if the problem is with the receiver or the HTPC. You might also try swapping in a known-good HDMI cable too.

That sucks. If it is truly just forums/blogs not too big of a deal, but if it went further, I'd be pissed.

Well, since the forums are down, I'll ask my question here.

I have an Android tablet, and I have a 64gb MicroSD card installed. I can't figure out how to get Plex to sync to the MicroSD card instead of internal memory. I'm running Android 4.4.2 if it matters.

EDIT: I finally found it. In Plex, go to Settings, Sync, Sync Storage Location. Seems obvious now that I found it.
