Hi

Why is so hard find a pretty htpc case? Are all ugly.. The nice looking ones, like A/V equipment, are really expensive and hard to find here in europe.. I am tired of search and i only like moneual, wesena e5, omaura tf5 and origen ae, but I have no courage for pay the money they costs.. I think isnt a fair price for that...

Do you think a $200,000 Farrari a fair price? It's only a car. Yet, people still buy them.

I have seen many posted here that are quite beautiful.

What did you have in mind?

The first origen is too big, but the second is great.. But the price.. I dont understand why the other pc componenents/cases companys dont make cases for htpc like that.. I have a Denon 1911, i am looking for a case that match well, like another A/V component..

There's a discontinued casemaker called Ahanix (or maybe D-Vine) that made component-style cases like the MCE301 and MCE302. The quality was kinda lacking to be honest...some power supply screws didn't line up for example...but once everything was put together, it looked very nice. They still pop up on eBay fairly frequently at around $100 a pop.

Take a look at my sticky thread. I have no idea if those cases are available where you are but imo they are the biggest bang for the buck in HTPC.

My Ahanix D.Vine is almost 10 years old and is still in use going through several HTPC rebuilds.

Get a quality case and it should last you several rebuilds and will be worth the money in the long run.

Vidabox made some slick looking cases which can be found on Ebay from time to time.

Have you considered picking up a dead amp and gutting it out to put the HTPC in it?

This way it will fit with the rest of your equipment.

I have seen people build HTPC's into old dual cassette decks, and old amp cases.

Your imagination is the limit.

I have a PC at home that I built into a PSU case (mini ITX atom build) It freaks people out when they see a PSU on the desk, monitor, network, mouse and keyboard are connected to PSU.

6 TV's in the house on FiOS and we only pay $4.99/month to connect them all!!! Power to the CableCard and WMC7!!!

That actually sounds really interesting. Do you have any pictures posted of this anywhere?

Silverstone cases looks ok but are too big..

I already thought on that, but i have no experience in assemble pc, so build my own case would be even harder...

If you are being this picky you are going to have to pay for what you want.

No real way around it. The earlier you accept this fact the happier you will be!

$389 from Amazon

I have the Silverstone L13C-E and I think it looks great. It's big but it matches my Pioneer VSX-1018AH in size so it looks fine to me.

The one I checked from their website - S14V - looked to run about $400. More for the case than the insides. Hmm, I'll pass.

I think the OP is looking to spend like $50 from the sound of his first post. Maybe $100 tops.

Look at the NMedia. Best bet for you in that price range.

Antec NSK1480 or NSK2480 are priced nice. I have the 2480, it came with the power supply and was really easy to build.
